The Movie Tax
So what is the Movie Tax Movement or MTM'08? Well I'll tell you. I believe, though nobody else may that I am an intelligent, hard working, self motivated person with a reasonable understanding of the economy. Which is why it absolutely blows my mind that the Senate passed some rediculuous bailout bill totaling over $700 billion. It's insane. My plan is much simplier and would actually benefit middle america.
Here is my proposal. I think we need to put an end to the outragous profits once and for all in Hollywood. How can it be that the average Americans can't even pay their mortgages, or buy food for their families, or school supplies for their kids, yet Hollywood actors and actresses, and filmmakers are making record profits. I can't even go out on a date to a movie without spending over $20-25. Well I say enough is enough.
My proposal is a 15% movie profit tax. It would work very much like the current capital gains tax except there are no loopholes to get around paying it. If you make money on a movie 15% goes to uncle sam. End of story. However, those funds will not go right into the IRS slush fund, instead it will go directly to public schools to buy new supplies, books and desks (for Students).
Secondly, as part of the MTM'08 I am proposing the Film Industry Income Tax. (FIIT) This tax is simple. Any person earning at least half of their salary from film, TV, commercials, and other advertising, and if the earnings are over $250,000 a year there will be a 50% luxury tax. Again, same as before, no loopholes, no exceptions, no questions. Additionally, if you wanted to not have your money taxed by the IRS at 50%, you must donate all of your salary above $250,000 to public schools.
I recently looked up gas prices and over past 50 years and compared them to movie ticket prices over the past 50 years and the results are pretty amazing. People don't seem to have any problem paying outrageous prices for movies yet they freak out when gas prices go up a little. Well the time has come that people realize just how much they are getting ripped off by the big movie business. It's time to take those outrageous profits that Hollywood producers and actors are making and put those profits to good use. I saw something in the news too that said there is a big tax break for the film industry in the bailout package. Can someone please explain how the movie business has anything to do with the finance and mortgage industry? I have a theory and it involves corrupt politions and backroom deals being made.
So please join me in trying to put an end to madness and together we put an end to the runaway spending and salaries in the Movie business.
Thank you.

The season after the end of the 1st quarter
I hate to say it, but we are no serious contender, at least not this season. True our offense looks good but I don't think we have established an identity yet, and what I mean by that is we don't really have that X factor that intimidates people. I think we are getting there, but I think we still need to get our faces kicked in the mud a few more times before that happens. However, on a side note when Champ Bailey up ended Larry Johnson last weekend and caused that fumble, that was a glimpse of what I am talking about. Unfortunately in my view we are still 2 players away from that on defense. We need a new middle linebacker, and we need a nasty defensive tackle. Maybe we they are already on our team and they just haven't got put it all together yet, (Somehow I doubt that) or maybe this coming off season we can pick someone up in the draft.
So to sum up I think we are going to get knocked around a little more before we will truely be contenders. So hang in there you fair whether fans, our Super Bowl drought will have to go on for at least one more year, but who knows we are only at the end of the 1st quarter of the season and there is still a lot of football to be played.
As far as prediction for this weeks game. I think our offense will bouse back and score some points even against a good Tampa Bay D. I think our defense will play about the same so we will have to score at least 35 to win this game.
Final: Broncos 34- Bucs 30
